Anne Elizabeth Lacy and Matthew John Gialanella were married on September 5, 2009 at 5:30 in the afternoon at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club in Durham. The Reverend Ruth Harper Stevens officiated at the ceremony. Afterward a reception was held at the Washington Duke Inn.
Anne is the daughter of Dudley and Marian Lacy of Durham. She is the granddaughter of Mary Anne Stone of Durham and the late Robert Stone Jr. and Dan and Hope Lacy. Matt is the son of Robert and Sharon Gialanella of Punta Gorda, Fla. He is the grandson of the late Hector and Doris Gialanella and Marion Sathre. Matt is the grand nephew of Lorraine Napolitano of Toms River, N.J.
Anne was given in marriage by her father. Julia Hope Lacy of Washington, D.C., sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Honorary attendants were Orla Buckley of Chapel Hill, Caroline Mage of Chapel Hill, Diane Hazel of Washington, D.C. and Lauren Young of Denver, Colorado.
Best man was Christopher Gialanella of Charlotte, brother of the groom. Honorary groomsmen were Brett Druger of Springfield, N.J., Dan Hartnett of Deptford, N.J., Grant Mitchell of Fayetteville and Brian Paterson of East Brunswick, N.J.
Anne is a 2005 graduate of Wake Forest University and a 2009 graduate of New York University's Steinhardt School with a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. She is employed by Carolina Outreach, LLC.
Matt is a 2004 graduate of Wake Forest University and a 2009 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He is a general dentistry resident at UNC Chapel Hill.
Following a honeymoon trip to Greece, the couple is residing in Chapel Hill.

|
Mr. and Mrs. John Hurlburt of Durham are very happy to announce the engagement of their daughter Susannah, to Benjamin Christopher Lock of Ballston Spa, New York. Ben is the son of Ms. Maggie Lock of Ballston Spa, and Mr. Randy Lock of Mayfield, New York.
Ms. Hurlburt, a graduate of East Carolina University, received her Master of Education from Loyola College in Maryland, and teaches music at Midtown Academy in Baltimore. Following undergraduate school at SUNY Plattsburgh, Mr. Lock completed his Master of Fine Arts degree at the University of Maryland in College Park, and now teaches sculpture at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
A spring wedding is being planned.
