Chatham to proceed with revaluation
PITTSBORO -- After an extensive review of the potential negative impact of delaying revaluation for one year, the Chatham County Board of Commissioners has decided to proceed with revaluation as originally planned.

PITTSBORO -- Chatham County officials say that while hard economic times have definitely had an impact on capital projects, the news isn't all bad.

Gerding concedes judgeship to Vernon
CHAPEL HILL -- Glenn Gerding, a Chapel Hill attorney who was running for district court judge in Orange and Chatham counties, has conceded the race to Page Vernon, the candidate who beat him soundly in the primary.

Chatham PAC backs candidates
PITTSBORO -- The Chatham Coalition, a grass-roots political action committee, has endorsed three candidates in the Nov. 4 election for Board of Education and Board of County Commissioners.

Writers' Series to kick off Saturday
PITTSBORO — The annual Writers’ Series hosted by the Chatham County Arts Council in partnership with Central Carolina Community College will start its third season Saturday. The monthly series features workshops by local and regional writers. Each three-hour, interactive workshop is for writers of all skill levels. The Writers’ Series is held on a Saturday each month, except in December, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro. Each workshop is $25.
